Xárene Eskandar
Xárene Eskandar is an artist based in Los Angeles, specializing in video and photography. Her work revolves around exploring the perception of the body and self by manipulating time and space. Notably, her piece 'Salton Sea Revisited' compresses an entire day, from sunrise to sunset, into various segments, challenging our conventional understanding of time and space. Most of her creations take the form of videos, and the photographic works are derived from these videos.
Xárene holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati and earned an MFA in Design and Media from UCLA. Her artistic endeavors have been exhibited at renowned international events and institutions, including the Istanbul Design Biennale, Iceland Academy of the Arts, Fabrica, the Contemporary Art Building in Geneva, the Center of Contemporary Art in Torun, the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki, the Southern Utah Museum of Art, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
