The works of Harpa Árnadóttir encompass experimental research into surface and translucency, but the foundation of many of her works is the idea of viewing paintings as visual poetry. The exhibition consists of works of waterfalls. Harpa began painting waterfalls when she was a student at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in 1990, and that imagery has accompanied her every step since. She herself says that watching a waterfall is like watching eternity itself. Thousands of years upon thousands of years. These are the ebb and flow within the soul. On these journeys, you travel through the inner landscape. "I draw waterfalls of light because it's enjoyable to watch them slowly emerge from the paper. Drawing is like breathing," says Harpa.
Harpa uses watercolors and oil paints in her works, The crack paintings taking many months or even years to complete.
