"doubletrouble" is the name of the collaborative artistic work of the visual artists Halldóra Emilsdóttir and Kristín Gunnlaugsdóttir. Both of them have been working in visual arts since their studies at the Iceland University of the Arts, where their friendship began. In the beginning of 2020 or the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to initiate a collaboration in the painting of portraits, where one would start, and the other would take over. Both were considered the authors of the work in this manner. The name "doubletrouble" is not coincidental, as lightness and humor characterize both the friendship and collaboration of these two friends. The critique and demands on the artistic outcome, without any mediators, are the same for both and are based on the trust of a longstanding friendship.
