Ynja Blær Johnsdóttir (b. 1998, Reykjavík) earned a BA in Fine Arts from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in the spring of 2023. She primarily works in the medium of pencil drawings, with her pieces often depicting spaces, created in layers over an extended period of time. Her process can be described as akin to a "long exposure" on film, where varying lighting conditions and atmospheres are allowed to merge into the space, leaving behind its essence, and perhaps even the essence of the person who resides within it.
