Alfa Rós Pétursdóttir (b. 1978) lives and works in Reykjavík. Alfa graduated with a BA degree from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2011 and completed an MA degree in Applied Cultural Studies from the University of Iceland in 2016. Alfa has held numerous solo exhibitions, participated in group exhibitions, and received a cultural grant from the American Scandinavian Society (ASS) in 2023. Alfa's work is characterized by a blend of embroidery, tufting, and other craft techniques, with the essence of her art revolving around colors, flow, and forms, along with an urgent need to explore the unknown in both the environment and herself.
