Magnús Helgason graduated from the Art Academy Aki in the Netherlands in 2001 and has since dedicated himself to experimental filmmaking, painting, and installation art. Magnús uses found materials that he transforms into either two-dimensional paintings or three-dimensional installations. He takes elements and substances, either shaped by nature or created by man for different purposes, and combines them into a new whole. His visual art does not require explanation. The works are meant to bypass the intellect and connect directly with the viewer's heart.
