Fritz Hendrik (b. 1993) graduated with a BA degree in art from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2016. He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in Iceland and abroad and held seven solo exhibitions, including in Kling & Bang, Harbinger and \u00c1smundarsalur. In his art, Fritz discusses, among other things, the conscious and unconscious staging that characterizes life, art and culture. He also asks pressing questions about the representation of our own reality, as we approach it more and more often through replicas and digital representations, and it is therefore worth pondering what really separates us from the replica. It might be in my blood to obey. It feels so natural to just sit in the back seat and let others be in control. I think it\u2019s a form of self-preservation. Why express your views on small things in the grand scheme of things when you can just put your head out the window and stick your tongue out. Lull on in the flow of time, enjoy the view and allow the grey tones of carelessness to caress you.<\/p>\n
In the show Dog Rainbow, Fritz Hendrik puts himself in the footsteps of a dog in a car. The works in the exhibition are painted in colors that dogs see and hung up at dog height.
