Lilý Erla Adamsdóttir works on the boundaries of art and design. She uses tufting technique where she shoots threads through the canvas where she creates organic repetitions. The works are characterized by colors and shapes that move like water or vegetation along the image surface and create either stillness or tension. Adamsdóttir‘s work process is characterized by constant communication with the matter – where one thing leads to the next.
Lilý Erla Adamsdóttir (born 1985) graduated with a BA degree from Iceland University of the Arts in 2011 and with an MA degree in Artistic Textile, from the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, Sweden 2017.
